Bronwyn

I am 28 years old and I have just found out that I have Morphea. These strange patches (2 of them) just appeared on my left thigh when I was about 8. The patches were slightly rough to touch and were a shiny white colour. My mom took me to see a dermatologist; he did not know what it was and sent me on my way. I did not panic about it and just went on with my life. Over the years the patches have become smooth and turned a brown colour- looks a bit like a bruise.

Then in July 2005, 5 new occurrences appeared on the same leg and 1 on my stomach. I panicked and I went to a dermatologist. He diagnosed me with localised morphea. He wanted to put me on to steroids, and I refused. He then put me onto a course of malaria tablets; I had a terrible reaction to these tablets and stopped taking them. I have stopped seeing the dermatologist all together and I am trying to decide what the next best step should be? Should I try herbal treatments or perhaps another dermatologist? Should I change my eating habits? Am I doing something to cause this reoccurrence of Morphea??

Perhaps someone can recommend a good skin specialist for me to make contact with?
