Hi, my name is Charlene and I have scleroderma, diffuse. I was diagnosed in 2000.

I have horrible body pain, joint and muscle pain, it hurts all over. I live in Texas so the weather is a help sometimes, but the fronts and rain make it so much worse. In Feb.of 2003 I had a stroke, middle cerebral artery. I am doing ok from that but no longer work as a labor and delivery nurse. I have disability, it was hard to get, but the stroke put me over the edge and the judge gave it to me. Its great to have because this last year without health insurance we would have spent about 150,000.00 on my health care. I have been in the hospital or doctors office 59 times this year.

I have two grown children and 2 grandchildren.

My husband is my hero, he loves me and takes good care of me. He went back to work after being retired for 8 years so we could have health insurance. I love him dearly.

Right now Iam in a flare-up lots of pain, can not do much. Would love to hear from anyone.
