My Mom Jennifer died this past Fathers Day. She has been in severe pain
for the last five years. We took her to numerous Doctors in the Dallas
area and she just couldn't get the right medicine to help her.
She was on disability and drawing social security. My Sister's and I feel
that that might have been the problem with her lack of care. Everything
takes a different turn when you mention medicare.
My Mom was a runner and avid exerciser. She walked her dog daily and
watched what she ate. The last five years she had to give up all of that,
along with her full time job. I went to see her in April and she was in so
much pain and misery that it tore my heart to see her that way. When my
husband had to tell me that she was found dead in her apartment alone...I
went ballistic. We may never know what she actually died off, but we are
having friends and family make donations in her name to the Scleroderma
Foundation. I truly hope that some day there will be a cure.
My Mom was only 63 years old and will never see her grandchildren grow up.
We will miss her deeply.
Love daughters Judie, Justine and Denyse
