Well, I have known of my Scleroderma from 1971.  I was 35 at the time.  At first it was very active and I was given only 6 months to live. My husband at that time could not stand up under the pressure of having a wife who was going to die.  Like I said that was in l971 and I'm still here and the doctors have given up on me a total of 14 times. telling my family I would not make it through the night.  Still I go on…

It has not been easy but I believe that if one gets into a hole the only way out is by one's own boot straps.  Doctors, of course, have knowledge but I have found that even they don't really understand all we have to endure. I first found out because of the difficulty in swallowing.  I lost 55 pounds in 5 weeks and I was not on a diet! now I have a thyroid problem and diabetes as well as cirrhosis of the liver.  The lungs are as affected as well.

I keep my fingers loose by practicing my piano daily for about an hour.  Docs agree that I should not stop this or they will freeze up. As for my music it is my number one talent.  However I do knit or crochet over 100 winter hats for those who do not have the money for one.  I’m very active in my church.  For years I was a children choir director.  Now as for color I do believe it is blue, can you tell? I am also a white face clown.  I performed at the Tennessee Valley Fair last year and hope to be asked back this year.  I truly love being a clown !  In other words if it is artistic, I do it.

I believe that the strong Oak Tree is the most beautiful thing other than man that God created.
